The company has suppliers, customers, and vendors world-wide and therefore, the lines of supply and distribution are long and cross many borders. The goal of usable wireless and mobile products has been pursued by the company since 1993. A strategic wireless vision and architecture was published in 1994 and a mobility Communications Vision and Architecture was published in 1995. The architecture consists of a four tiered architecture in which wireless PANs, LANs, MANs, and WANs are envisioned to fulfill the goal of increased productivity through wireless and mobility. There are many issues which arose from this effort ... there will be lots of wireless and mobility issues to work on for a long time."
