CommerceNet, Inc.is a global business development and technology research company helping to accelerate the use of the Internet for electronic commerce. Based in Palo Alto, CA, it provides services for a variety of member/clients in technology, manufacturing, retail, financial services, and business service industries. Mr. Whiting leads CommerceNets executive management team and since its inception has participated in a number of management roles including chairman of the sponsors steering committee, member of the board of directors and chair of the industry task force on interoperable catalogs.
Prior to joining CommerceNet, Mr. Whiting spent 15 years with the Hewlett-Packard, most recently as Director of Internet marketing and commerce services. Before joining CommerceNet in 1996, Mr. Whiting held a number of marketing and technology management positions at Hewlett-Packard. Prior to joining HP, he was a founder and President of Autofax Systems, a communications technology development company.
CommerceNet is a unique, not-for-profit global research and business development organization whose mission it is to develop the next generation of electronic commerce, and create business opportunities for members. CommerceNet focuses on pre-competitive global and industry-wide issues that allow members to gain a unique perspective on electronic commerce business, market and technology directions.
