Richard Mader

Mr. Mader is the Sr. Vice President and Chief Information Officer of Boscov’s Department Stores and 29 regional stores in Pennsylvania and surrounding states. Richard has been in retail information for more that 30 years, serving in management positions with: Federated Department Stores, S. Grumbacher and Son, and Mc Crory’s prior to joining Boscov’s in 1989.

Career highlights are creation of a Strategic Information Plan for Federated Corporate, the Development of a single data architecture Merchandise Processing and Reporting System for S. Grumbacher and Son and Implement of a Total Quick Response Environment (Vendor Partnerships, Scanning and EDI) for Boscov’s.

Mr. Mader serves in a volunteer capacity as the Chairman of the International Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS). Arts was founded in 1992 to establish retail specific standards to increase the speed of implementing technology while reducing the costs. ARTS has more than 350 members worldwide, retailers and vendors, committed to this goal. In this capacity he as spoken in Japan, South Africa, U.K. and Europe on the benefits of standards and a wide range of Retail Information Topics.

Mr. Mader is also a member of the NRF I.T. Council.
