DSM Program Group Agenda

Objectives

The DSM Program Group will continue its program of work in developing requirements for Distributed Systems Management, pursuing its Application Management-based approach.

The draft DSM Program Plan will be presented and discussed.

There will be a presentation by Microsoft on their approach to Systems Management.

This meeting will include a joint session with the DSM Specification Working Group, with the goal of further improving the relationship and the feedback between the 2 groups.

The Program Group and the Specification Working Group will be undertaking further work to refine and develop a common Application Management approach for The Open Group, taking a whole-process approach to DSM. We hope to be able to establish major objectives, priorities and actions in this discussion. As a stimulus, there will be a series of presentations on application management directions from vendors and software suppliers.
