Chris Harding, The Open Group Forum Director for SOA and Semantic
Interoperability, presented a review of conclusions from the Glasgow
workshop on Information Architecture for SOA.
Daniel Serain of Oracle then gave a presentation on the use of semantics in SOA services,
and led a discussion on an approach based on UDEF and OWL to facilitate service interoperability and re-use
in a generic SOA architecture.
Arnold Van Overeem of Capgemini then gave a presentation introducing the
concept of UDEF Registry Switching. He proposed this as a mechanism to address a key part
of the problem of semantic interoperability in a distributed environment.
