Grid Enterprise Services Forum:
Web Services Open Session

Objective of Meeting

The objective of this open session was to identify the requirements and blockers associated with delivering Web Services in the Network Centric Enterprise Services architecture of the US DoD. By the joint participation of both government and industry representatives, solutions are more readily mapped out that promote rapid progress to be made through industry input and best practice. The session placed particular emphasis on certification and what is needed to make certification possible.

Next Steps

This Forum session has recommended that The Open Group initiate an off-line working group to develop a minimal strawman web services profile that meets the requirements of a driving DoD application.
