Tutorial on using The Open Group infrastructure:
Plato The Open Group Web Collaboration Tool

Objective of Meeting

The objective was to provide a tutorial session on using Plato, which is part of The Open Group infrastructure. This was part 2 in an ongoing series.

Summary

Plato is an example of what is often called Groupware or Web Collaboration software. It has been designed so that a group of people, typically in a project or working group, can share items such as email, documents, actions, and calendar events – in a controlled area of the web using a web browser. Although every Plato site uses a standard set of common facilities, a maintainer can tailor a site for the group's specific needs. This second tutorial covered the layout of a Plato page, and how to use the eight features that are provided: Actions, News Items, Polls, Events, Email Archive, Document Store, Wiki Documents, Review Documents, and Glossary. The session ended with a question and answer session.
