Objective of Meeting

The primary purpose of the meeting was to plan the launch of the initial version of the UDEF from The Open Group.

Summary

The meeting developed a plan for all the stages involved in the development and promotion of the UDEF, including the launch of the initial version. It also reviewed progress on the activities of the UDEF Forum and Interested Parties Group.

One initial stage of the plan - development of a training course - was complete, and there was substantial progress on two others - completion of Version 1 of the UDEF through baseline review, and definition of a controlled process for extending the UDEF. The key outstanding item was a pilot project to demonstrate the value of the UDEF, and possibilities for this were discussed.

Outputs

The main output was the plan for the development and promotion of the UDEF, which will be actioned by the UDEF Forum.

Next Steps

The next steps are to:

• Complete the baseline review of the UDEF
• Prepare for an Open Group Company Review of the standard describing the process for extending the UDEF
• Identify an appropriate pilot project to demonstrate the value of the UDEF
