The meeting was divided into several distinct sessions.
The first session was a review of current status and direction, utilizing the expertise
of one of the guest speakers from the main conference plenary session. The project team
discussed barriers to progress, and concluded that the most significant is that AQRM is
not an area of perceived controversy. There is essentially universal agreement that the
project is a good idea, and consequently there is a tendency to sit back and let the
activists work on it, rather than actually participate directly. It was concluded that the
project should aim to undertake some activities in cooperation with one or more industry
publications.
The next session consisted of a series of presentations from invited speakers on some
of the human-related aspects of data center management. The presentations will be
available to project members on the AQRM website.
The third session focused on developments in the area of application management. Karl
Schopmeyer reviewed the state of activities in several organizations including the DMTF.
The final session was a working session which addressed the AQRM Architectural
Framework. As part of that, a list of topics for future discussions was identified.
