Dave Hornford, joint leader of the SOA/TOGAF Practical Guide project,
had prepared a new draft of the Guide, including the definition of an example
case study of an organization creating a service-oriented architecture.
Using that example, the meeting worked through the draft,
and made substantial progress in describing the use of the TOGAF
Architecture Development Method (ADM) to do SOA.
This focused in particular on the Preliminary, Architecture Vision,
Business Architecture, Information Systems Architectures, and Technology Architecture
phases of the ADM.
A joint meeting of the SOA Work Group and The Open Group Security Forum
discussed the proposal for a joint project on SOA and Security.
While they were not the subjects of formal sessions, there were informal discussions
relating to the SOA Governance and
SOA Ontology projects, and to the
SOA Reference Architecture proposed project, which will provide useful input
to those activities as they go forward.
Work will continue on the Practical Guide, on SOA Governance,
on the SOA Ontology, and on establishing new SOA Work Group projects.
There are new project proposals for Service-Oriented Infrastructure,
SOA and Security, and SOA Reference Architecture.
