Real-Time & Embedded
Systems Forum
SMA (First Afternoon Session)
Objective of Meeting
The
first session of the afternoon was devoted to advancing the work of the
Secure Mobile Architecture (SMA), a joint (RT&ES and Security
Forums) Working Group.
The second afternoon session was devoted
to RT&ES Forum status and updates to provide members with the most
current status of the RT&ES activities and deliverables.
Summary
Steve
Venema, from Boeing, gave an opening
presentation on SMA to set the current status and direction he
proposes for the Working Group. He presented the SMA Charter and members
approved minor additions to the draft. Steve then invited project
members to contribute use-cases based on their mobile requirements in
real-life application areas, from which we will expect to derive a set
of common requirements as input to the SMA standard.
Steve proposed a template for filling in each use-case.
Outputs
A
set of nine proposed use-case topics, with individuals assigned to
complete them, was assembled, and a timeline also agreed for bringing
them together. Members not present at the meeting will be invited to add
their use-case contributions.
Next Steps
A
follow-up call will be scheduled for the first week of March. A
face-to-face meeting will occur at the next Open Group members' meeting
(Rome during the last week of April). Other face-to-face Working Group
meetings may be desirable; we will discuss any potential need for this
on the next call.
