The UDEF and How to Use it

Objective of Meeting

The purpose of this meeting was to provide in-depth information on the Universal Data Element Framework (UDEF) and its use as an enabler of semantic interoperability within the enterprise.

Summary

This was an interactive session in which Ron Schuldt, UDEF Forum Chair, explained the UDEF in depth and answered questions. It was initially held on the morning of Wednesday, January 31, and was repeated on the morning of Friday, February 2.

Outputs

This report is the primary output of the meeting.

Next Steps

Version 1 of the UDEF was approved at the Lisbon conference in October 2006 and is available for mainstream use by enterprises. Further sessions to provide information on the UDEF will be held as needed in response to user demand.
