The format and structure of The Open Group conferences are changing.
Chris Harding reviewed these changes, and the meeting discussed their
impact on the DIF.
Chris then presented a report on the work of the DIF in 2004. The
following deliverables had been achieved:
- Identity Management White Paper
- STANDARD level LDAP Certified -
- New certification documents
- New version of VSLDAP
- LDAP Products Matrix
- MaD Challenge Architecture
(Some had been the result of joint work with other forums, but with the
DIF taking the lead.)
A review of members' interests in the early fall of 2004 had led to the
conclusion that Identity Management should be the main focus, with
Directory Certification as a key topic. The current work items as of the
meeting reflected this. They were:
- Enterprise Identity Management Architecture Guide
- Identity Management Implementation Catalog
- Common Core Identity Representations
- Secure Directory Services Business Scenario
Potential new work items for 2005 were discussed, and the following
were identified:
- Guidance/Specification/Certification of Referrals Processing
- Guidance/Specification/Certification of Virtual List View (VLV)
Processing
- Application Certification (development of the LDAP Ready
program)
- Principles of Good Practice
- Certificate Path Discovery/Validation in PKI
- First-Level DSAs
- Directory for the Next Generation Network (NGN)
