The Open Group, in co-operation with other bodies, is working for a global identity
management framework. The Open Group Identity Management Work Area has defined a catalog
in which vendors can record details of their identity management products, and has written
a Roadmap White Paper that identifies other areas in which The Open Group can do useful
work.
The objectives of this meeting were to progress implementation of the catalog, and to
discuss the potential work items identified in the Roadmap White Paper.
Actions were raised to complete the web implementation of the catalog survey form, and
to promote the catalog to application vendors.
The five potential work items identified in the Roadmap White Paper were discussed. In
some cases, modified scopes and objectives were agreed. Two of the items were combined,
and the resulting four were prioritized:
- Enterprise Identity Management Architecture Guide
- Input to the US Government on Authentication Guidelines
- Requirements White Paper on Core Identity
- Cooperation with Identity Management Standards Initiatives on Certification
