An increasing number of companies are aware that they should do a better job in leveraging information in order to become a strategic asset. Enterprise Architecture can be of great help in tackling this issue. But as part of an Enterprise Architecture vision, it is really a SOA approach that will allow for the transformation towards Information as a Service, leading to what business users really need, being Information on Demand. The lecture will describe and justify the requied components to make this a reality, the options of accessing structured as ell as unstructured information, the relevance of the metadata, the data quality issue, and the increasing popularity of Master Data Management. The session will also give insight in how to run a project that aims at delivering Information as a Service, and ilustrate this with some concrete customer examples.
