Eric BoulayEric Boulay is Founder and CEO of Arismore, a Service & Consultancy Company dedicated to EA design and implementation. Eric has 10 years practice in the hardware and software industry and 13 years in services.

During the past 13 years he has been involved in building and implementing Enterprise Architecture initiatives in large accounts both in government and private sectors. Eric has been representing Arismore at the Architecture Forum of the Open Group for 3 years. and is now the representative of The Open Group in France.

Eric developed a professional EA practice at Arismore in coordination with ITIL and COBIT practices, this led to a pragmatic approach which tightly couples the business side of IT (business expectation and IT organisation) and the technology side of IT (methodology, business application development, infrastructure, operation) in order to lead business transformation and to keep business projects under control. The key point is to enhance business and IT people's awareness of the architecture continuum in order to share a common vision of the business goals and IT projects.

ArismoreSince its formation, Arismore has assisted large enterprises with the transformation of their information systems. The goal is to train individuals who change information systems in line with international best practices. In September 2008, Arismore opened its School of Enterprise Architecture. Through this initiative, Arismore is the first french organization to offer training which leads to certification of the best practices of TOGAF™ (The Open Group Architecture Framework) methodology. This methodology enables the design of an information systems architecture and its alignment with company strategy. Academic Organizations & The Open Group

Questions and topics to share in a roundtable including The Open Group and academic organizations.

Academic organisations are invited to participate in the track and/or to answer to the following questionns:

  1. Every university may expect or may offer something different from or to The Open Group -- what is your "give and take"?
  2. Are you interested in participating in an education workgroup? What do you expect from such a workgroup ?
  3. Are you a part of an international network of universities? Do you share EA training or training material with other universities ?
  4. At the boundary of EA, is there any research job you would like to participate in or to share with other research organisations?
  5. EA is an extensive discipline; it is a combination of science (systemic, modelling, etc.) and best practices (governance, project management, etc) To what extent do you use TOGAF? What are the major references you rely on or you may need to teach EA ?
  6. Regarding your individual experience, how can we foster Enterprise Architecture training in major universities ?
  7. Tips to develop a more visible EA practice to make more engineers or business school students trained to EA?
