Sarina Viljoen, RealIRM, South AfricaSarina Viljoen is Senior Consultant at Real IRM Solutions, South Africa.

Sarina is a business and IT professional with over fifteen years of experience in the various facets of enterprise architecture. Sarina established an Enterprise Architecture practice in South Africa's incumbent telecommunications provider where she executed the role of theChief Architect during her tenure as the RealIRMglobal design authority chair. Having faced the challenges of working for a large business within theInformation and Communications Technology industry, Sarina understands the practical implications of establishing enterprise architecture and the value enterprise architecture could provide to the business.RealIRM.

Prior to telecommunications, Sarina was responsible for the model-driven architecture for a materials management solution for the Defence industry, implemented both locally and abroad.

Sarina holds a Bachelor of Science (Computer Science) and a Master of Science (Management of Innovation and Technology) from the Da Vinci Institute of Technology. Her dissertation focused on the influence that enterprise architecture has on information flow within an organization.



   
 

Helius GuimaraesHelius Guimaraes is Global IS&T Manager at Rio Tinto, South Africa.

Helius started his professional career in 1987 in a start-up company involved in selling and implementing CAD (Computer Aided Design) software and afterwards developing and selling accounting software and services for 4 years.

After graduating as a geologist in 1990 and completing a master degree in geosciences, Helius supported the implementation of a geo-processing laboratory for a mineral resource government state organization. In 1994 he joined De Beers and implemented GIS and database systems to support diamond exploration in South America. During 1997 Helius moved into a South America management position responsible for IT, GIS, Information Centre and Drawing department. In 2001 he moved to De Beers Corporate Headquarters in Johannesburg to lead global projects aimed at standardizing processes and systems as well as establishing a culture of global collaboration. In 2003 he completed his MBA and in 2005 became responsible for strategic planning and international co-ordination of process, application, data and information management for the group exploration diamond team.

Helius was certified as a Project Management Professional in 2005 and in early 2007 joined Rio Tinto in London to establish a Global IS&T Exploration team. Since then he has been working in collaboration with group IS&T, focusing on delivering a worldwide IS&T services as well as building a data and information management strategy to support explorationists in finding tier one mineral resources

This presentation is focused on the new Open Group vertical for the Exploration, Mining, Metals and Minerals industry (EMMMv) and how TOGAF 9 is used to develop the reference models of this vertical.
