  Steve Kirby, Principal Enterprise Architect, SAP EMEA
 


Steve Kirby is Principal Enterprise Architect for SAP EMEA and was the overall Project Manager for the development of the SAP Enterprise Architecture Framework (SAP EAF), a set of extensions to TOGAF 8.1. Steve is a highly experienced Enterprise Architecture trainer, running numerous SAP EA training courses in various countries across EMEA, and he was also responsible for the development of the current SAP Enterprise Architect certification program and examination.

Steve has worked as a strategic IT management consultant and independent advisor for over ten years, specializing in IT strategy, architecture and vendor/product selection. Steve has advised at CIO level for many of the largest companies in EMEA but has particular expertise in Retail Financial Services, working for the largest banks in seven countries in the Middle East region, specializing in core banking systems, and the development of robust yet flexible applications and technical architectures.

Prior to joining SAP, Steve was Director and Vice President of Gartner Consulting for 8 years, working on over 100 successful assignments. Steve has been a speaker and panelist at many industry and vendor events including Gartner Symposium and the Open Group. Prior to joining Gartner Steve worked for Lloyds TSB for 12 years in a variety of business and IT management roles including R&D, customer relationship management, operations and marketing.
