#Jack has spent the past 10 years helping business to flourish through the appropriate use of technology. He is an experienced IT Strategist and Enterprise Architect within the Outsourcing Services CTO Office, and has provided technical and strategic IT consultancy to customers across all levels within organizations including regularly presenting to C-level executives. Jack has a software development background and specialises in Service Oriented Architecture, Cloud Computing, Software as a Service, Middleware, Integration and the processes, tools and organisational structures required to deliver complex software products. Jack is an Agile software development practitioner and Certified Scrum Master and has extensive experience with formal project methods.

Jack’s key strengths include aligning business goals with a solutions portfolio and ensuring that multifaceted requirements and strategic drivers from disparate stakeholders are delivered on time and on budget. Jack has provided strategic advice to both the private and public sector. Working with UK Government Agencies, and blue-chip clients, leading the business transformation and technology advisory teams.

Prior to Capgemini, Jack worked for a major vendor & service provider of strategic storage & consulting solutions; his role was lead consultant to several FTSE 100 companies, working as the trusted advisor to board level (CIO/CTO) and senior management. Developing strategy and driving this into delivery. Leading teams delivering enterprise wide SOA through delivery of reusable services, Enterprise Service Bus, service catalogues and the processes required to realise significant cost benefit from the adoption of managed integration and a service based approach to software development.

Jack facilitates technology-based strategies aligned with the organisations vision, future business requirements, and immediate cost/performance targets.

Jack is TOGAF 8 Certified.

Inside the Cloud – the Supporting Architecture of Cloud Computing

This presentation will focus on addressing the challenges associated with cloud adoption.

After briefly outlining the different types of cloud (Infrastructure, platform, SaaS, etc.) Jack will talk about the Information Services which are required to support cloud computing initiatives. From identity and access management to Jericho-style security to service governance and compliance issues and how to address these.
