Applying Architecture to Solve the Integration Challenges in Government
The disconnected nature of systems within Government has a major impact on the lives of its Citizens and the quality and efficiency of the services. Currently citizens are largely burdened with the torturous responsibility of seeking information on services offered by government and at the extreme to integrate government services on their own in order to access the one service they needed most. Were government achieves a ‘limited integration’ it is based on exchange of flat-files established on an as-needed basis, requires time consuming negotiations with individual organisations, no common definitions and/or established infrastructure to facilitate information sharing, no use or adherence of standards and no reusability of services.
The presentation outlines the integration challenges faced by government and how Enterprise Architecture can be used to enable better integration between government entities.
