As IBM’s worldwide executive for the IT Specialist profession, Phil Stauskas is responsible for the technical and professional career path of over 55,000 IBM professionals. His primary goal as profession executive is to represent the interests of the IT Specialist community and strengthen the value of the specialist profession.
Phil has over thirty years of experience in the IT industry. The vast majority of his experience has involved data management solutions – utilizing both IBM and non-IBM technologies. He joined IBM as a professional hire in 1989. Prior to joining IBM, he worked in the electronics/manufacturing industry in both the business and engineering information technology areas as well as in state government.
Phil was appointed an IBM Distinguished Engineer in 2001. The following year, he was elected to the IBM Academy of Technology. In June 2003, he assumed the role of IT Specialist Profession Executive.
