Francois Briant, Distinguished Engineer & IT Architect, IBM France

Francois Briant is the WW STG Customer Centers Chief Architect, supporting large and complex Enterprise Applications Solutions architecture design, test and delivery. He is an IBM Distinguished Engineer. His key competence includes IBM Server, Enterprise Applications Solutions (EAS) Infrastructure, SOA and Information Management Architectures.Francois is also providing WW STG Customer Centers teams with technical and leadership development directions.

Francois has a diploma of Engineer, from the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Physique (Centrale Marseille). He is an elected member of IBM Academy of Technology and is teaching Enterprise Systems Architecture in Montpellier University.

Service Oriented / Cloud Architecture - From Vision to Reality

François and the European IBM Customer Center team have developed a set of best practice to develop Service Oriented Infrastructures, in support of their clients SOA projects and for their Data Center operations. They have applied these principles to the IBM European benchmark and education Data Center, turning it into a flexible and service oriented Data Center, which is able to dynamically serve their client needs and requirements. This architecture is considered as one of the first Cloud implementation, running in production in Europe and is an official IBM Cloud reference.

François will present the architecture of this Service Oriented Infrastructure, the methodology used to develop and implement it, and the business results it delivers to the European client support team in IBM Montpellier Customer Center. He will also explain how these principles and assets are being re-used by IBM European and world-wide clients, in their Cloud strategy and architecture definition.
