Allen Brown, President & CEO, The Open Group
Allen Brown is President and CEO of The Open Group, a vendor- and technology-neutral consortium that works towards enabling access to integrated information within and between enterprises based on open standards and global interoperability. For more than ten years, Mr. Brown has been responsible for driving the organization's strategic plan and day-to-day operations. In addition, he was instrumental in the creation of The Association of Open Group Enterprise Architects (AOGEA), which was formed to increase job opportunities for all of its members and elevate their market value by advancing professional excellence.
Prior to joining The Open Group, Mr. Brown managed a consulting firm in London, which he founded in 1987. He enjoyed a mix of financial management and general management assignments, which included advising venture capitalists on investment decisions, and consulting on IT systems design and implementation. Mr. Brown has been a speaker and panelist at numerous industry events – most recently at Gartner's Enterprise Architecture Summit, SAP TechEd 07, BTELL Enterprise Architecture Conference, Enterprise Architecture 2007 Conference, the FTP Enterprise Architecture Summit, and the Ziff Davis CIO Summit. He has contributed guest columns on the topic of enterprise architecture to Architecture & Governance, CIO Update, CNET, DM Review and Sandhill.com. Mr. Brown holds an MBA from London Business School.

Drinking Our Own Champagne: Using TOGAF™ to Architect The Open Group's Systems
Allen Brown will describe how The Open Group has used TOGAF™ for its own internal systems highlighting the business benefits that have been realized so far in the journey and will share a few of the lessons learned along the way.
He will also show how The Open Group has incorporated the Operating Model from the book, "Enterprise Architecture as Strategy" and how we have used OMG's UML for use cases and BPMN standards.
