Presentation
What is the ROI of Architecture? Reporting on the added value of Architecture
This session summarizes the results of a sample survey to find the ROI of architecture. In the survey 30 programs and projects were analyzed to find correlations between (among others) quality of the architecture and project results, using Six Sigma as an analysis approach. Interesting quantitative trends were identified, which gives insight into financial justification for architecture and allows architects, program management and software developers to understand the added value of architecture and the mechanisms how architecture and software development interact. This session presents the first results of an ongoing initiative which will ultimately analyze hundreds of projects.
