  Shaw-Jen Chang, Senior Director Enterprise Architecture, Cisco Systems    

Shaw-Jen Chang Shaw-Jen Chang, a ten year veteran at Cisco Systems and a senior director in IT organization, is responsible for Cisco’s Enterprise Architecture. Shaw-Jen has successfully driven EA across Cisco by focusing on four areas: Standards & Governance, Enterprise Alignment, Cross-Process Integration, and Data & Information. In addition, he manages Enterprise Data Warehouse group and several enterprise programs such as business intelligence, identity management and integration competency center.

Prior to leading Enterprise Architecture, Shaw-Jen was a Director in the Manufacturing organization managing the systems and technologies for e-supply chain processes.

Before joining Cisco, he worked at Oracle Corporation for four years developing manufacturing suite for Oracle Applications. He also spent four years in Taiwan’s high tech industry.

Shaw-Jen received a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan. He earned an M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from Oklahoma State University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, respectively. He has published several papers in various journals.

CiscoThis presentation highlights how Cisco’s Enterprise Architecture has evolved in terms of people, processes and systems over the past decade as Cisco has transitioned to a process-oriented enterprise. The focus will be on key challenges and lessons learned about the evolution of the business and technology architecture, governance model, and the architecture organization in alignment with Cisco’s global processes and business strategy.
