Biography
João Serras Pereira (Portugal) heads the Innovation
Centre at ISQ and has a background in Information Technology
and Physics, being a former Portuguese representative
to CENELEC Technical Committees and professor in disciplines
including Informatics and Communications Systems; Systems
Analysis; Knowledge Structuring and Management and Signal
Processing. The Innovation Centre at ISQ clusters its
research along two major edges: Knowledge Management
and Non-destructive testing and measurement, supporting
applications in advanced detection techniques covering
areas ranging from Medicine to e-Government and Industry
Organisation and shop-floor optimisation processes. Mr.
Serras Pereira has particular expertise in two domains:
Medical Informatics and Industry Process Maturity. His
work involves the coordination of a number of process
related research projects for Portuguese Industry and
Government, with a significant part of this research
conducted with financial support from European Commission
under the Eureka, PEDIP, POE, EURPEAID and Framework
Programmes.
