Presentation
CASE STUDY: Approach and Experiences in Building an Architecture Practice at PFA
PFA, one of the leading suppliers of corporate pension schemes in Denmark, is undergoing a significant business and technology transformation that started in second half of 2002; new management, new IT staff, new service provider, and a host of new technologies were introduced into an existing organisation which had IT development far away from the top of the list; the business objective was to increase business throughput, quality and flexibility, partly by taking a process oriented approach and partly by replacing the majority of existing applications and technology. Initial schedule: 5 years, estimated budget: EUR 67M. "Architecture" and "architects" were introduced as a means to shape and direct solution development and implementation.

This presentation will touch upon the past, the present and the future approach to building and sustaining an architecture practice in PFA, and the lessons learned.
