The Management of Architecture Knowledge
In the process of architecting, one refers to a large body of knowledge of architecture (for example good practices) and also generates a large body of knowledge (like the various design decisions). Some of this knowledge is application-generic, that is it can be applied in multiple applications across domains and some of it is application specific, for example the reasons for a particular design decision. The ability to model, represent and process such knowledge is vital. Apart from other things will enable an organization to 'retain' its 'competence'. This talk is about how to handle the various types of architectural knowledge in various contexts, like design, asset management, training and so on.
