CASE STUDY: Service Orientation in the Banking Domain Transforming Banking

In the face of increasing demand from customers for speed, convenience, and superior service, banks are moving towards customer-centric banking from the earlier product-centric banking models. Changes in regulatory frameworks like Basel II, AML are also bring about a paradigm shift in the way banks approach risk management, capital adequacy, financial reporting etc.

To address these challenges banking solutions need to have powerful STP capabilities, dynamic business processes and flexible multi-channel delivery with support for multi-entity businesses providing a 360 degree view of the customer relationship. Service Oriented Architecture provides the foundation for such an agile and highly scalable solution.
