photoN Dayasindhu, PhD, is a Senior Research Associate with the Software Engineering Technology Labs (SETLabs), Infosys Technologies. His research and advisory interests are IT management and governance, and business IT alignment. Dayasindhu has advised IT organizations in Fortune 500 enterprises. He has published in top tier peer reviewed journals and research conferences. His articles also appear in practitioner focused publications like Computerworld. Dayasindhu has a doctoral degree in information systems and strategy from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore and a masters degree in physics from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras. Challenges in Governance for SOA Adoption

Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) adoption is becoming a mainstream program in many large enterprises. The main governance challenges faced by enterprises adopting SOA are obtaining a formal buy-in from business sponsors and users, aggregating services across multiple channels, and user acceptance for the "to-be" services model across multiple channels. SOA context specific IT governance is required to mitigate these challenges.
