Presentation
A Framework for Organisation
Development and Change using the UP and the
UML
Enterprise Architecture (EA) describes the Elements we need to consider in
order to build an Automated Information System that supports the Enterprise
and how those Elements fit together at various levels. The (extended) Zachman
Framework is an example of an EA, TOGAF 8 is another. However the various EA
Frameworks are necessarily static models, they don’t in themselves reveal
a methodology for developing and changing the EA, which is constantly needed
as a response to business pressures. ADM from TOGAF is an example of such a
change and development framework, but, in our presentation, we would like to
outline an alternative framework based upon extensions to the idea of the Unified
Process (UP). UP uses the Unified Modelling Language (UML) as its modelling
notation and therefore we also point to appropriate extensions to UML.
