The Geography of Enterprise
Architecture
As the importance of IT architecture becomes more
widely acknowledged, conversations between people with different
perspectives and concerns have become more frequent. Too
often these conversations resemble the story of the blind
men and the elephant. Much of the vocabulary used to discuss
IT architecture is locally defined, and as we take a more
global view of the subject, it has become apparent that this
vocabulary is inconsistent and unsystematic, making productive
conversations between various constituencies difficult.
This presentation explores the issues around a common definition
of and vocabulary for Enterprise Architecture, and proposes
a stategy for addressing them.
