The Importance of Standards and Certification to The Boeing Company

Commercial aircraft, military aircraft, and space stations are very complex products. They require millions of parts to fly and interoperate together as a single vehicle within complex and dynamic environments. Enterprise computing in the aerospace industry tends to exhibit the same complexity as do its products. There are thousands of applications, linking hundreds of organizations and thousands of customers, partners and suppliers located all around the globe. Standards and adherence to standards are critical to the agility and interoperability of Boeing information systems, both within the enterprise and with our customers, partners and suppliers.
