Many organizations now realize the advantages of choosing products that conform to standards. But how do they conform? This conference will consider case studies from organizations that prefer products that are independently certified to conform to standards, and will look at what certification means and some of the processes used for certification. Attendees will share requirements and experiences of user organizations, understand the approaches being taken by suppliers and government organizations, and network with leading practitioners and thought leaders.
WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE
|
ABOUT THE EVENT This conference will combine presentations with an exhibition of interoperability testing, and of certification and testing processes. It will also consider the practical issues of procurement when expressing a preference for products that are certified to conform. The conference is open to non-members and is focused on the application and use of certified standards-based products. Immediately following the conference, The Open Group Member Meeting will continue the work in each of its specific subject forums. WHAT MAKES THIS EVENT UNIQUE The Open Group is a global, vendor neutral consortium that brings together customers and suppliers of IT products and services to discuss, address and resolve the barriers to Boundaryless Information Flow using open industry standards, best practices and methodologies. It is also the premier independent organization for the certification of conformance of products and services to open standards. By combining this conference with our quarterly member meeting we are able to bring a large group of both customers and vendors, from around the world, who are working on these issues, both within The Open Group and inside their own enterprises, to create a much richer networking opportunity for non-member attendees than could be achieved by a stand-alone conference.
