Dear Colleague,

This is your invitation to attend a practical one-day IT seminar that will update you on the future direction of technology in the fields of Quality of Service and Enterprise System Management. 

The Situation:

• In today’s business environment, where the Internet has become an integral part of the enterprise system, the effect of Quality of Service on the organization’s mission and on the IT applications supporting it is of critical importance. 
• After core functionality, Manageability is the key attribute necessary for the successful deployment of almost any complex IT system. 
• Between them, Quality of Service and Manageability affect every server, client, network, and every application in the entire enterprise.

The Challenges:

• The distributed IT paradigm requires additional guarantees for end-to-end delivery of information through each product in the delivery path; server, mobile device, application, transmission media, router, satellite, etc.
• Few organizations are aware of the solutions available and even less able to understand how to apply them to gain advantage.
• The absence of standards means that it is very difficult to combine products from different vendors and this makes it unnecessarily complicated to implement best-of-breed tools.

The Solutions:

• Define an open Manageability framework to provide a common mechanism for both consumers and providers of manageability information.
• Participate in a forum with the mission to resolve these issues.
• Increase collaboration among commercial organizations, government agencies, R&D groups, universities and other consortia in order to develop standards as a means of providing interoperability. 

The Starting Point:

• Right here, right now.
• This is a great opportunity to learn how the technologies currently available in the market are addressing your requirements, and to discuss what other requirements still need to be addressed.
