The goal of the Regional Chapter program is to provide self-sustaining groups that can provide local benefits to local members. The Regional Chapters are run for members, and by members, with assistance as needed from The Open Group.
The local benefits are chiefly in the form of Regional Meetings that bring members together to discuss topics related to the vision of Boundaryless Information Flow, to provide regional input on the vision, and to supplement The
Open Group Conferences and Members meetings.
A Regional Champion coordinates each Regional Chapter and acts as the local
representative of The Open Group. Regional Champions already serve the Regions
listed opposite.

Members gain as local programs provide local benefits in addition to full
benefits of membership of The Open Group,
Local meetings provide a networking opportunity especially in locations where
we do not have quarterly conferences and members meeting.
