Enterprise Architecture Practitioners Conference The Open Group

Bringing Together Enterprise Architects with the Right Skills, the Right Standards, the Right Framework, and the Right Style of Architecture

The conference will feature a morning plenary session on the Monday followed by afternoon tracks and track sessions all day on Tuesday that will focus on these themes:

Track A: Service Oriented Architectures

Finally living up to its hype, this style of architecture has emerged as a viable way to help organizations meet their business goals and provide IT agility. This conference will examine the business dimensions of SOA, within the context of the broader enterprise architecture eco-system.

Track B: TOGAF

80 percent of the Forbes Global Top companies are using it (including Capgemini, EDS, HSBC, Hewlett-Packard, IBM, NEC, Sun Microsystems and other member companies).... More than 32,000 individuals have downloaded it… And approximately 3,000 people have become certified for it. What is it? It’s TOGAF; and it has emerged as the definitive framework among enterprise architects for developing information systems architectures. The conference will use real-world case studies to showcase some of the possible outcomes when using the TOGAF standard and offer practical advice for getting started with in your own organization.

Track C: Skills and Experience for the Enterprise Architect

This track will address IT Architecture as an emerging profession, and the role of IT Architects in the wider enterprise context. It will also examine the competencies, expertise, and experience that IT Architects need in order to be able to effectively support today's global enterprise. In particular, this track will feature the work of The Open Group IT Architect Certification (ITAC) program and the Association of Open Group Enterprise Architects (AOGEA). It will highlight the work of the Association and examine the increasing role of standards-based certification programs in assuring today’s architects possess the necessary skills and experience.

Track D: Enterprise Architecture Development
