Enterprise Architect - More than a Technologist

Architecture has evolved significantly over the last two decades. However, there are still different views about what architecture is, and different expectations of value to be realized from architecture activities. Frameworks, such as, TOGAF® have evolved to provide the discipline and consistency of view needed to extract value from architecture-related effort in enterprises. But technology's pace continues to shift the ground rapidly, requiring architects to continually reposition themselves to align with emerging demands and for their own career growth. This session will lay out the current context and explore key traits that aspiring architects will need to consider on their path to becoming an Enterprise Architect. Anecdotal evidence, based on the personal experience of the speaker will inform the exploration.
 Balaji Prasad is a C-Level Technology Partner within Cognizant's Banking and Financial Services Practice. He has 28 years of experience in IT leadership with a focus on architecture, innovation and business-technology alignment. He is a published author, a TOGAF certified architecture practitioner and served on the Advisory Committee of the W3C.
