Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS)

Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) is the discipline that is concerned with the analysis and (re)engineering of strategic, tactical, and operational planning processes in combination with the design and implementation of the necessary supporting IT systems, which are based on state of the art visualization tools and advanced operations research techniques. APS has a broad range of applications, including (field) workforce management, rostering, transportation, and production planning. The Open Group members are forming the APS Forum to work on the standardization in this area.
