Patrick Steemers, Managing Consultant, Cap Gemini Ernst & Young

Patrick Steemers, Managing Consultant with Cap Gemini Ernst & Young, has an extensive experience in Fixed & Mobile Telecommunications and the Internet industry.

Patrick graduated from Eindhoven Technical University with a master's degree in Electrical Engineering in 1991.

Patrick contributed to the launch of the first Dutch commercial Internet Provider: Planet Internet. He undertook strategic business consulting projects focused on international telcos setting up Internet services. Projects covered markets in the UK and Europe (Belgium, Spain, Italy, Slovenia) as well as in South East Asia.

He conducted major assignments in the field of Mobile Internet, working with mobile operators to take on the issues associated with IP technology and launching 3G-, Mobile Internet- and WAP services.

At several conferences Patrick Steemers has presented on the subject of mobile Internet services, new wireless communications technologies, WAP, 3G and the business case for mobile Internet services. He has published many articles related to Mobile Internet and recently finished the book: "De Mobiele Samenleving" (The Mobile Society), for which he was co-author.
