Michele Rubenstein, Solutions4networks

Michèle Rubenstein is an internationally recognized expert in the risk assessment, e-security, policy, directory services, and privacy fields. Michèle brings over 20 years of experience in information security, public key technology, e-business technology, and privacy and policy matters. She is a consultant for security architecture, implementation, deployment, and policy services in the financial sector, as well as consulting for venture capital groups, startups, and Fortune 500 corporations seeking to spin off entities in the information security fields pertaining to e-security, directory services, messaging, privacy, and records retention.

Before independent consulting, Michèle managed product-security strategies for TidePoint Corporation, a business infrastructure service provider, where she was the Product Director for Security Strategy and Security Evangelist. In addition, Michèle managed the strategic partnerships in the information security area for the company. As former Director of Business Enterprise Solutions (BES) for the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Michèle served as the senior technical advisor to the Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Information Systems (the CIO). As the Director of BES, Michele was responsible for all business development and architecture for enterprise wide applications in the security, directory, and messaging areas. Prior to working for Treasury, Michèle contracted for the Department of Defense at the Pentagon where she was a security architect and threat assessment expert. There she managed the Air Force's Pentagon network, classified and unclassified. She also led a team of expert crackers breaking into defense networks in order to detect and document vulnerabilities. Prior to that, Michèle worked in security for MCI Worldcom Network Operations. She also worked for the Bank of America, where she supported network, EPOS, and EFT security systems.

Michèle is a member of the American Bar Association where she is active in the Information Security Committee, she is Co-Chair of the Global Directory Forum, is a member of The Open Group's EMA Forum Steering Board, and is Co-Chair of the World Electronic Messaging Association's PKI Interoperability Challenge since 1997. Additionally Michèle attends and participates in several national and international standards bodies. As a recognized expert in security technologies and policy, she publishes articles in various media, is often interviewed, and frequently lectures and presents at both national and international conferences. Michèle's degree is from George Mason University. She lives in Columbia, MD.
